Skingraft SS 2014 - Behind the Scenes
This New York Fashion Week we had the pleasure of shooting behind the scenes for LA based design team Skingraft. The line boasts intricate leather detailing (think shinguards with a feminine silhouette), exoskeletal and moth metamorphosis prints, and ethereal athleticism- a nod to Greek mythos with leather sandals and sheer jerseys repping “VENUS.” A hearty mix of fashion’s fringe “it” crowd and thoughtful curation birthed a stunning and effortless show all around.
Being in the background of the designers’ foray into the pit of New York Fashion Week was a spectacular experience. Keep watch for a behind the scenes film and interview with the designer himself soon.

“Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film”
Jay Z feeds his music into a fusion of institutional high art performance and democratic assembly. With famous artists such as Marina Abramovic, Kehinde Wiley, designer Jenna Lyons, and rapper Wale, Jay Z curates a one-on-one experience of his performance with artists from all calibers of great. He imparts a very singular, vulnerable moment of his raw live performance in direct company of high art gaze. He’s mentioned the album being about duality and authenticity, and I feel like it doesn’t get more bare-it-all than this performance. Hats off to his attempt to bridge a gap between institutional art and its cultural roots- though I wonder how long the impact of his Abramovic inspired performance will have? Will this change the pace of performance art? Does the feedback loop return to it’s roots? Can super celebrities make intimate, public art trendy?

La Academia presents: “RNB Millionaires - Honey”
Every week at 12FPS, we have a night dedicated to La Academia, the place where we gather to experiment with new technology or just exercise our minds outside of the work day. This round, we bring you the musical and vocal stylings of Oakland based rap duo, RNB Millionaires. Jay Casio has a flare for classic beats and airy production that’s not hard to groove to. Justin Flores is a mic slayer, quick and steady flow that is both anthemic and witty. Check out our collaboration!
Poolside - If We Make It
Check out our first music video production for Poolside! The LA based pop-disco duo have a sound that is nostalgic at the same time it’s future. We set up very freely on a soundstage to create a transparent view of a minimal but high impact visual landscape. Throw in some vogue dancers and geometric graphics and you’ve got the makings of a classic video produced in a record amount of time! Check out our behind the scenes Making Of video too!
